Prayers to St. Peregrine
Patron Against Cancer

to If I Could Touch His Hand

O God, who gave to St. Peregrine an Angel for his companion, the Mother of God for his Teacher, and Jesus as the Physician of his malady, grant we beseech You through his merits that we may on earth intensely love our Holy Angel, the blessed Virgin Mary, and our Saviour, and in Him bless them forever. Grant that we may receive the favor which we now petition. We ask this through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

(say 7 Our Fathers, 7 Hail Marys and 7 Glory be to the Fathers with
the invocation "St. Peregrine, pray for us.")

O God, in St. Peregrine You gave us an outstanding example of faith and patience. We humbly ask You that, by imitating him and by the help of his prayers, we may believe more fully in Your healing help, bear the suffering of this life without wavering, and come with joy to the peace of heaven. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Dear Apostle of Emilia and member of the Order of Mary, you spread the Good News by your word, and by your life witnessed to its truth. In union with Jesus crucified, you endured excruciating sufferings so patiently as to be healed miraculously of cancer in the leg. If it is agreeable to God, obtain relief and cure for N., and keep us all from the dread cancer of sin. Amen.

Glorious wonder-worker, St. Peregrine, you answered the divine call with a ready spirit, and forsook all the comforts of a life of ease and all the empty honors of the world to dedicate yourself to God in the Order of His holy Mother. You labored manfully for the salvation of souls. In union with Jesus crucified, you endured painful sufferings with such patience as to deserve to be healed miraculously of an incurable cancer in your leg by a touch of His divine Hand. Obtain for me the grace to answer ever call of God and to fulfill His will in all the events of life. Enkindle in my heart a consuming zeal for the salvation of all men. Deliver me from the infirmities that afflict my body, especially (name your ailments). Obtain for me also a perfect resignation to the sufferings it may please God to send me, so that, imitating our crucified Saviour and His sorrowful Mother, I may merit eternal glory in heaven. Amen.

St. Peregrine, pray for me and for all who invoke your aid.

Prayer to St. Peregrine

We implore thy powerful aid, St. Peregrine, for all who are living unworthy of their Christian vocation. May the be converted from a sinful, selfish life, as thou wast by the good example of those who are obedient to Christ's counsels.

We invoke thy special help, St. Peregrine, for all in religious life that they may remain faithful as thou didst to their vows, and ever steadfast in their commitment to Christ.

We seek thy merciful aid, St. Peregrine, especially for those afflicted or threatened by cancer, by any ailment of the foot, or by any incurable diseases. Please help us quickly to find a cure for cancer, and a remedy for all our human infirmities of soul, mind, and body. Amen.

V. Keep us, O Lord, as the apple of Thine Eye,

R. In the shadow of Thy Wings, protect us.

St. Peregrine, we come to thee confidently to implore thy aid with God in our necessity. Thou wast converted instantly from a worldly life by the good example of one holy person. Thou wast also cured instantaneously of cancer by God's grace and unceasing prayer. In thy gracious kindness please ask the Lord to heal us also in body, mind, and soul. May we then also imitate thee in doing His work with renewed vigor and strength. Amen.

For Sick Relatives and Friends

O great St. Peregrine, thou hast been called "The Mighty," "The Wonder-Worker" because of the numerous miracles which thou hast obtained from God for those who have had recourse to thee, thou who for so many years didst bear in thine own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fiber of our being, and who had recourse to the Source of all grace when the power of man could do no more; thou who wast favored with the vision of Jesus coming down from His Cross to heal thy affliction, ask of God and Our Lady, the cure of these sick persons whom we entrust to thee. (Name them)

Aided in this way by thy powerful intercession, we shall sing to God, now and for all eternity, a song of gratitude for His great goodness and mercy. Amen.

Prayer to the Mother of Sorrows
Through the Intercession of St. Peregrine

O my dearest Mother Mary, Mother of Sorrows, behold me, thy child, in prayer. I have come to plead for this special favor through the intercession of thy faithful servant, St. Peregrine.

(mention your request)

O Sorrowful Mother, I beg thee to present my petition to thy Divine Son. If thou wilt pray for me, I cannot be refused. I know, dearest Mother, that thou doth want me to seek God's will in all things. Therefore, with childlike trust I abandon myself to God's Holy Will concerning my request. If what I ask for should not be granted, pray that I may receive that which will be of greater benefit to my soul.

Mother of Sorrows, I love thee! I put all my confidence in thee, because thy prayers before God are most powerful. For the greater glory of God and through the intercession of St. Peregrine, whom thou hast led to sainthood, hear and grant my prayer. Amen.

A PRAYER TO SAINT PEREGRINE FOR WORLD PEACE

Saint Peregrine, you spent your early years as a man of violence and intolerance. Your anger and selfishness blinded you to other points of view. Then a plea for reconciliation from St. Philip Benizi opened your eyes to God's dream of peace and the command of Jesus that we serve one another. We implore your powerful aid, Saint Peregrine, as we continue to work for peace and understanding in today's world. Help people of violence redirect their energy to building the Kingdom of God. Help the Church be a sign of unity to a divided world. Help each of us make a home for the Prince of Peace in our family and in our Heart. Amen.

PRAYER FOR SICK FRIENDS AND RELATIVES

Saint Peregrine, as a humble Servant of Mary, you experienced human weakness and the pain and suffering of sickness. Knowing that medicine and human knowledge have limits, we pray for all those involved with the medical profession that they will be a true source of healing and comfort to all people. Like you, we also turn to God in our suffering. Just as Jesus reached out and touched you with His healing hand, we pray that the following sick person(s) will be strengthened in body and spirit and cured of their illness by Jesus Christ through your intercession.

(Here list the name(s) of your sick relatives and friends.)

In gratitude we pray for all the people of the world that they will come to know you, Saint Peregrine, and the love that God has for each of them. Amen.

May suffering lead me to a better life and enable me to atone for my own sins and the sins of the world. Amen.
